Dear John is about a young boy who lives in North Carolina; after he is done with high school he joins the army. On his visits back home, he meets Savanna Curtis (who is in North Carolina for mission work) they instantly fall for each other. “I finally understand what true love meant… love meant that you care for another person’s happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be”. John and Savannah fell in love so fast they didn’t care what got in the way of them, but John had to go back to the army. Savannah told John she’d wait for him when he got back, they wrote each other letters and they picked off where they left off.
Dear John is such a great and moving book, shows people in relationships or even meeting someone, takes a lot of effort. One person can’t do all the work as the other falls apart. Dear John teaches a lesson on if you love someone you have to meet there expectations to wait for that person and see where it goes. This book is great, to read and has some stuff choices to make in life, maybe choices you might start to figure out or even choices you might chose in life now.
